On Monday, January 21, 2019, Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture Björn Thümler was a guest at Faculty III - Media, Information and Design. Together with HsH President Josef von Helden and Media Design Professor Nils Loof, he watched eight films on which 38 students worked for a semester on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK).

The development of the mystery thriller "Emilie", based on a screenplay by Martin Dolejs, is supported by Nordmedia in the third round of funding in 2018. Skalarfilm GmbH - Rike Steyer - is responsible for the production. Co-producer is Jan Philip Lange from Junifilm GmbH. Nils Loof will direct the film. Shooting is scheduled to start in 2020.

As part of a cooperation between Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Nils Loof taught students of the film class in South Africa.
