The Lübeck-built ferry "Norröna" is the only regularly scheduled ferry across the Atlantic. From Hirtshals in Denmark, it shuttles across the Faroe Islands to Iceland and back again. The ship is important for supplying the islands with goods and can also carry several hundred passengers and vehicles.
We accompany the "Viking voyage" of the Norröna and look over the shoulders of the crew, learn how they live and work on the ship and also accompany some of the passengers who prefer the crossing by ship to the fast flight.
The film was made with the support of the shipping company Smyril-Line, Visit Faroe Islands and Atlantic Airways.
